From the Höllentalangerhütte beneath the Zugspitze's north face, over the historic Kreuzeckhaus, then west out of the high Wetterstein into the gentler Ammergau Alps: the August-Schuster-Haus (Pürschlinghaus), the Brunnenkopfhäuser, and down to the small self-catering Fritz-Putz-Hütte in the Bleckenau valley. It picks up right where the existing Wetterstein-Tour turns back to Grainau, and keeps going west instead.
The Fritz-Putz-Hütte is self-catering (bring your own food), and its bunk count is worth watching as closely as the bigger huts'. HutRadar tracks all five nights on this chain, including the two it shares with the Wetterstein-Tour, together.
