The Karwendelhöhenweg cuts through the dramatic limestone walls north of Innsbruck. Six high nights connect the Karwendelhaus, Hallerangerhaus, Bettelwurf-Hütte, Pfeis-Hütte, Solstein-Haus and Nördlinger Hütte across steep scree, exposed traverses and broad cols.
It is compact, wild and heavily constrained by the small number of huts on the line. HutRadar watches the exact sequence because a free bed on only one night is not enough to make the route work.
Karwendelhaus to Hallerangerhaus follows the Adlerweg's own Etappe 11. Solstein-Haus is also an Adlerweg overnight stop (Etappe 14), though the Adlerweg's own route drops down through Innsbruck to reach it rather than staying high like this traverse does.
